Public Health Wales is reminding people with long term health conditions to protect themselves from flu this year.
Public Health Wales is urging all pregnant women to have their free flu vaccine as research shows they are seven times more likely to die from flu than a woman who is not pregnant.
“It’s important we do what we can to protect children against infections and illnesses like flu, because as we all know, children are very good at spreading germs.”
Influenza can be serious. Influenza is now circulating in the community, and it can be serious for some people, especially for pregnant women, those aged 65 and over, children, and people with long-term health conditions.
People aged 65 and over in Wales are being urged to get their free NHS flu vaccine. Vaccination is the best way to protect against this potentially serious illness.
